Stories and Drama Project: Irish Drama and Film
The aim of this project is for students to discover different aspects of Irish story-telling from ancient legends to modern drama and will create their own original story, and perform it.
Rationale
Ireland’s mark on the world of drama is greater than its small size. That spirit of theatrical experimentation is still very much alive and breathing, with Irish artists continuing to push boundaries and create new forms.
Students express their understanding by working together in small teams to devise, write, cast, rehearse, perform, their own 5 minute drama.
Learner Profile
Young Adults from age 17 to 20 who have an interest in film and drama.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course students will have
- Explored their imaginative resources
- Tried out some creative processes for drama
- Experienced working together to a deadline
- Built their self-confidence in performing to an audience
