Programme Introduction
Known as the City of the Tribes and City of Festivals, Galway warmly welcomes people from both near and far to explore its cobbled streets and experience the lively atmosphere of buskers and performers singing and dancing on the street.
Galway STEAM programme is the perfect combination of learning 21st century skills in an authentic Irish environment surrounded by culture and nature, it will not disappoint!
Learner Profile
This programme is for learners from age 12-17 who are interested in improving the 21st-century skills of communication, collaboration, creative problem solving and digital information through the medium of English. It gives them an engaging and meaningful context for developing these skills, through a programme that encourages them to engage with other cultures and explore the science, technology, engineering, arts and maths of the world around them in Galway, the only city along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
Learner Outcomes
Future Learning’s summer STEAM programme is about much more than incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math into the afternoon activity programme. The STEAM workshops engage students’ creative and critical thinking skills in multi-sensory interaction with the physical world and help them develop the language to describe those experiences.
By the end of the course, participants will have
