Become a Host Family
Hosting an international student will enrich your life in so many ways. You will be a key part of the experience for a student who has come to live and study in Ireland. Our students come from all over the world to learn about the culture and the language in Ireland. They live with a host family, go to school, and integrate into the local community.
International exchange is a great investment in the future for a young person. We’re passionate about providing young people with this opportunity, and we are really grateful for the amazing contribution our host families make to our programme.
If you are interested in becoming a Host Family with Future Learning in Dublin, Athlone or Sligo in Ireland, we would like to hear from you.

Answers to your Questions
We have gathered your most asked questions. Please note, the answers may vary depending on the location (Dublin, Athlone, Galway, Sligo), the programme (Summer, High School, Mini-Stay) and the student type (Junior, Adult, High School students). If you have any specific questions, please send us a message and we will be happy to answer!
Full board (breakfast, packed lunch, hot dinner) Short stay students can share a room (Mini stays, summer students etc) High School students need their own room (with a bed, wardrobe, lamp, and desk)
Students in a short stay will have a group leader. The group leader will stay with the student at the school and/or bring them to the doctor’s if necessary. However, if one of the host parents is available, we may ask if the student can stay home. In the case of a High School student with no group leader, it will be a case by case decision.
Summer students: it is the responsibility of the host to get the student to and from the school 6 days a week. Student taking public transport or walking are the hosts' responsibility. High School Students: hosts drive the students to and from school, unless there is a school bus service where the host can apply for a seat for the student on the bus(hosts must do this)
High School Students: Hosts collect students from the airport upon arrival to Ireland. Summer students: : students arrive to a nearby central location and the host collects them from there on arrival.
