Erasmus+ Foundation Stage Communication in English

 Future Learning offers a range of innovative adult courses for the 21st century learner that Erasmus+ participants are welcome to explore. Each course includes 15 hours of classroom based tuition along with 5 additional hours of cultural activities. Courses take place at the Future Learning Dublin City Centre campus with activities in the surrounding areas. It is an opportunity for participants to experience Future Learning’s high quality teaching which promises to foster development and progression as well as discovering Ireland’s heritage and culture with their teacher.

Learner Profile

Erasmus+ students who join this course have an A1 (elementary) level of English and are working towards achieving A2. The learning activities are designed to activate students’ passive knowledge of English so that they can communicate in situations of immediate need while travelling or living in an English speaking environment.

Learner Outcomes

During the course, participants work on a project to improve their communication, collaboration, creative problem solving, and critical thinking skills, and work toward achieving the following communicative outcomes from the CEFR:

  • Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment.
  • Express themselves about matters in areas of immediate need.
