Project Introduction
The aim of this project is for students to explore the technological transformation of the world they live in. They learn about the extent of their digital footprint and its consequences from building an online reputation, to spotting scams and protecting their intellectual property.
Rationale
Participating positively in our digitally connected society is about everything from students identifying accurate information on what is happening around us, to purchasing a product and managing money, and to sharing creative ideas and collaborating with people we have never met in person. They express their understanding by creating an online campaign to raise awareness of one of these issues involved to people of their age across Europe.
Learner Profile
Young Learners from age 12 to 16 who have an interest in exploring the technological transformation of the world in which they live, how it impacts on their lives, and the society around them on a local and European level and how they can make a positive contribution.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course students will have
- explored the consequence of bad digital citizenship and explored how to avoid it in their own lives
- identified an aspect of the topic that they think it is important to tell their peers about
- collaborated using digital tools to create an online awareness campaign
- shown an understanding of responsible digital citizenship can have a positive impact on their daily lives and on those of their peers throughout Europe
