Programme Introduction
The FL United Kingdom Summer programmes are based in the south of England, close to London city, capital of the United Kingdom. London is amongst the oldest of the world’s greatest cities — its and is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the entire world. Considered one of the most engaging and fascinating cities in Europe, London is the home of the world-famous royal family and exciting monuments that can be recognised all around the world.
The FL United Kingdom Summer programme has a strong focus on embracing the world-famous UK capital’s culture and also takes full advantage of the amazing renowned sites & monuments across London city. Our Hampshire centre is based in Sherfield School, an elite private school in the Hampshire countryside.
Learner Profile
This programme is for learners from age 11-17 who are interested in improving their 21st-century skills of communication, collaboration, creative problem solving and digital information through the medium of English. It gives them an engaging and meaningful context for developing these skills, through a programme that encourages them to engage with other cultures and explore the science, technology, engineering, arts and maths of the world around them in the UK.
Learner Outcomes
Future Learning’s Summer Cultural programme is about much more than incorporating English into the students’ everyday life. The workshops, sports and cultural visits engage students’ creative and critical thinking skills in multi-sensory interaction with the physical world and help them develop the language to describe those experiences.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed a greater understanding of the responsible and effective use of information and communication technology, fulfilling project team roles and how to use problem-solving skills to complete tasks creatively.

Sherfield Cultural Programme – Summer School
Sherfield School is a prestigious private boarding school, located in Sherfield Manor in Sherfield on Loddon, Hampshire, England, only 50 miles from central London.
A short transfer from the major airports, only 40 minutes from London Heathrow and 60 minutes from London Gatwick, and only 45 minutes by train to the heart of London.
The attractive Sherfield Manor House site dates back to the early 12th century. It was granted by King Henry VIII of England to his Marshall, William Fitz Aldelm, making it an important historical site. With a grand entrance hall, traditional wood panelled walls, antique fireplaces, and a beautiful orangerie, students will experience at taste of life in an impressive English manor house.

Accommodation – Sherfield Cultural Programme
Residential Accommodation
At Sherfield School, our students are accommodated in Archer’s Lodge, the state of the art, purpose built boarding house located within the grounds of the school. Set among the mature trees, the facilities at Archer’s Lodge are designed to provide a balanced and enjoyable summer experience. The accommodation features comfortable study areas, Wi-Fi access, and spacious twin rooms all ensuite, fostering a sense of community. Its serene countryside location and picturesque architecture create an inspiring environment where students can immerse themselves in learning, engage in diverse activities, and form meaningful connections. Boys’ and girls’ bedrooms and bathrooms are located in separate wings for privacy and our dedicated team of friendly staff stays on-site with the students at all times, ensuring constant support and high-quality supervision whenever needed.

Samples of Cultural activities & excursions
At FL, we believe that busy students are happy students, and each evening, our dedicated Activities staff organise a variety of fun and engaging activities to keep our students amused. From talent shows to discos, karaoke nights to games nights, table quizzes to spooky story nights, there is something for everyone – an opportunity to make friends, speak English and create those magical memories of their time in England.
One of the main attractions of the FL United Kingdom programme is the incredible sightseeing activities. Students will have the opportunity to leave the school campus 3 times a week: once during school hours and twice on the weekend!
Each Saturday and Sunday all students travel by private coach on a full day excursion to some of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations, such as, London, Bath, Windsor and Oxford. There they will experience the magic of seeing the world famous sites and monuments first-hand and experience a real taste of British culture, history and cuisine.
Beyond the city trips, our excursions also feature the beautiful British landscape, stunning historic palaces and famous national parks, which showcase the enchanting beauty of England, together with fun outings to local activities!
Arts & Perfomances
Photography: create unique photographic works of art using the latest photo editing software and techniques
Music & Songwriting: explore the technology and creativity behind music and its production.
Arts
Upcycling Art: You will use recycled materials, and build an eye catching piece and transform trash into treasure.
Collage: Using interesting picture media, you will work with your team to select, sort and cut out images to build an artistic collage.

- Outdoor trips: Sherfield, Bath, Oxford, Winchester & London: Big Ben, Camden Town & Soho, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Tower of London, Trafalgar Square and loads more!
