Programme Introduction

Located in Abbotstown, Dublin, the Future Learning Soccer Academy is Ireland’s first full-time soccer academy and a leading destination for both Irish and international players seeking to advance their careers. Whether aspiring to compete at a higher level on the pitch or pursue opportunities within the wider soccer industry, our academy provides a professional environment designed to support long-term success.

Since its establishment in 2010, this International Soccer Academy has welcomed players from across the globe, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and the Caribbean. This diverse, international community creates a unique learning and playing experience, preparing athletes to compete and collaborate in the modern global game.

Our programme extends far beyond football training. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching learning environment that places equal emphasis on personal development, education, and leadership. By focusing on the holistic growth of each player, we equip our students with the skills, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed both on and off the field.

Learner Profile

This programme is designed for learners aged 12–17 who are interested in developing key 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and digital literacy through the medium of English. Using football as an engaging and meaningful context, learners enhance these skills both in the classroom and on the pitch, where teamwork, leadership, and strategic thinking are central to daily activities.

Through structured training sessions, match analysis, and football-focused workshops, participants apply their language and learning skills in real-world sporting environments. The programme also encourages learners to engage with other cultures through football, while exploring the science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths (STEAM+AI) behind the modern game — including sports science, performance analysis, and innovation in coaching.

Based in Dublin, at the heart of Ireland’s capital city, the programme offers a unique blend of education, sport, and cultural experience, supporting personal development both on and off the field.

Learner Outcomes

Future Learning’s summer STEAM+AI programme is about much more than incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math into the afternoon activity programme. The STEAM+AI workshops engage students’ creative and critical thinking skills in multi-sensory interaction with the physical world and help them develop the language to describe those experiences.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed a greater understanding of the responsible and effective use of information and communication technology, fulfilling project team roles and how to use problem-solving skills to complete tasks creatively.become more able to contribute to and facilitate exchanges between different cultures while also being more able to identify the cause of misunderstandings and work to repair them. improved language competencies through exchanging information, expressing and justifying opinions and developing their ability to make complex arguments incorporating other ideas and responding to them in their summer programme.
